Albertsons Mix and Match Promo Deals for Jan 7-Jan 13

Note: Make sure to check with your local Albertsons to make sure they are participating in this deal. I am in Utah so I know the deal in going on in all Utah stores but I would call ahead or check your ad to make sure that your Albertsons is participating just to be safe!

Hey Everyone, remember back a couple of months ago when Albertsons' and other Albertsons affiliated stores did that amazing deal for buy $30 worth of products and get a $15 catalina off of your next purchase? They are doing it again, and I am so excited!! This is a GREAT week for deals at Albertsons!

Here is how it works. Just this deal alone will be like getting everything in your cart for 50% off, but there are a LOT of coupons that can be used on the participating items so you will be able to get many of the items for FREE or almost free this week!! You are going to want to get your total up to $30 BEFORE you use your coupons and then you will give the coupons to the cashier to get your out of pocket lower and then will receive your $15 catalina at the register after you checkout.

These are the BEST Deals I could find that fit within this promotion. Pay attention to the Sale Price to get your total to $30. I will list the final price you will pay out of your own pocket and then an estimated price of how much they will end up costing you when taking the $15 catalina in to account (these will be in parenthesis). Thanks to Pinchingyourpennies for helping with some of these deals!

If any of you have any questions, email me at iamafrugalone (at) gmail (dot) com and I'll help you out. And if you are new to I Am Frugal and want to see the best Albertsons deals on a weekly basis make sure to sign up in an RSS Feed or enter your email at the top of the blog to be subscribed to email alerts.

Do you know if you are limited to the 2 double coupons? Do you think we could have like 4 (get them from more ads)? So it would be up to .50 coupons double? Hope I am understanding this. I know doubling coupons isnt a big deal to most, but up in the pacific NW we are in the land of no doubles, so this is exciting!

Can you post a link to where this deal is advertised? I couldn't find it on the online circular for my local Albertson's. (I want to find out which sizes of the GM cereals work for this deal.)
Thanks!

Mommycia: I am pretty sure that you can only use the 2 in-ad coupons to double your coupons once PER VISIT. So if you wanted to get more papers and go multiple times during the week I would think that would be fine. And as far as I understand the max value of a dollar means that they will double coupons that are for a $1 off or less. I would check with your Albertsons when you get there to make sure though. They might interpret it diifferent. Hope this helps!

Heidi: I found my deals through pinchingyourpennies.com I put a link on the post for pinchingyourpennies that you can click on and scroll through to find a more detailed list of everything. I only put the BEST deals that were in the promotion so there are more deals and for the cereal it says the cereal sizes.

Also, I would make sure your Albertsons is participating in this deal. If it wasn't in your local circular online they might not be participating in this deal. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions let me know.

THanks for posting these deals! I went this morning at the crack of dawn and got my shopping out of the way. I was shocked that I was the only person in the store shopping. It was great!

And they do limit you on doubling the coupons. They only let you double up to $1.00 twice for all your transactions. (you can however get another ad and do it on a different day.) They did not have the ad up front when you walk in, you have to ask for it and they only give you one. ~hence the limit on your doubling.

http://bzzagentroyalty.blogspot.com/ I just went to Albertsons and blogged about the deals I got! Thanks for your help!

I ended up with more doubling coupons because I asked for the downy that wasn't in my store... and he went to get an add to see. They have to order in the downy for me, so i'll be going back on friday, what a better time to use my other doubling coupons

I had a VERY frustrating shopping trip today. I had everything planned on paper and all sales matched with coupons. I was immedately told at customer service, as I picked up the ad, that if I had any coupons, I would not be able to use them with this deal. The I had to spend $30 out-of-pocket to get the $15 coupon. A manager later explained to me that the manufactor now specified that the $15 back is like using a coupon and by using other manuf. coupons, it would be double-dipping. I also wouldn't be able to use the $15 coupon from the previous transaction to do another one. Grrrr! He said that this was something different now because it wasn't $15 automatically taken off, but spit out as a Catalina coupon. I did some caluations and decided that it would still be worth my while to try it. Unfortunately, Washington State has been hit with some mojor flooding and supplies haven't been able to get through. All yogurt products were out. I spoke with the manager and asked if they could do rainchecks and still get the $15. It was a no-go. Rats! I ended up returning a cart full of products and wasted about an hour of my time at the store. **I would strongly recommend checking with your own Albertsons to see how this play works in your area. *** For those who have completed this deal - did you use coupons after $30 of products?

Thanks for the match-ups and explanations. They were very helpful.

Unfortunately, I can echo Kathy in saying that it was a little frustrating. I could do the coupons after the $30, but I couldn't use the Catalinas on the next transaction. The checker said the computer knew that they had just been generated and that it would reject them. (I'm not sure I believe her, but I didn't have an option at that point.) I went ahead and did my three transactions, two on the deal. So, now I have $30 to spend there. The checker said they would trade them in for cash if I came back tomorrow. I'm a little skeptical.

BTW, I am in So Cal.

Kathy,
I hope you'll come back and see this. My store in MA (Shaw's) just ran this same promo and there were a lot of problems, but also a LOT of success.

Out here, it works on Pre-Sale pricing. Meaning, you don't actually have to spend $30 to get the $15 cats. You only have to buy enough of the sale items so that the Pre-Sale total of everything was over $30. In some cases, it was possible to get this price down to $16 without even using any coupons.

We were able to use manufacturer's coupons on top of the sale, so that some people got their oop spending down to $4. For $30 worth of stuff. For which they then got $15 cats. You see how insane this deal is?

However, for some reason, the stores absolutely do not understand (or admit?) that it works on pre-sale prices. But when people called the Catalina company with problems, they always calculated based on pre-sale prices.

Anyway, I'm sorry your store gave you such a hard time. However, if I were you, I'd try again somewhere else. Use your coupons and work the sales (pick the items with the highest pre-sale price relative to sale price, the best one out here was the Fiber One cereal) to get the lowest possible out of pocket price, while still getting $30 worth of stuff. And see if you get the cats. It'll be so worth it in the end if it works! (I spent $40 for $400 worth of groceries! It's unreal!)

Ok, sorry for taking over your blog, Erin! I just want this to work for you all as well as it has worked out here! Best of luck and someone please post or comment on my blog if you get this deal to work!

Thanks you SOOOOO much Heidi, for encouraging me to go try again. I went to another Albertsons today and bought just $30 in items, but had about $15 in coupons to go with it. I got $15 back!!! I was so jazzed. I put things into the car and went to try again. Unfortuantely, or maybe fortuately, a manager was my cashier. She told me that some people were not able to get $15 back and she really pushed for me to not use my coupons. I told her that in the past hour I'd just completed the deal with no problems. She then told me that it was limited to one deal/Albertsons card a day. I'll just come back Ü Thank you again!

Heidi said...

Yay Kathy! So glad you tried again! It really is amazing. I couldn't tell from your comment if the $30 value was based on sale prices or pre-sale? I know you spent less based on your $15 worth of coupons, and that it still gave you the cats with less than $30 in spending, which is awesome. But it would be truly spectacular if it works on pre-sale out there, too. We are moving to SoCal this summer, and if they keep having deals like these, I'll make sure we move near an Albertson's! Best of luck to you and BIG thanks to Erin for alerting us to this!!!
